Q&A: Japan’s Personal Information Protection Act
This webinar will provide an overview of Japan‘s Personal Information Protection Act (“PIPA”) and the practical points that non-Japanese companies and foreign legal personnel working for Japanese corporations should understand. Although PIPA is similar in some respects to the GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation) and the CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act), it has many unique differences. For any organization handling personal information of Japanese residents, it is essential to thorough understanding this regulation and the policies behind them. This webinar will also cover recent updates to the PIPA.
